Grana Padano Cheese

Grana Padano is a hard gourmet Italian cheese that is pasteurised, and traditional. Its natural, smooth rind is incredibly hard and thick. Grana Padano cheese is sometimes referred to as "Parmesan" cheese, however it is manufactured particularly from cow's milk from Northern Italy's Po River Valley, following a practice established by monks in 1000 AD.

Fun fact: It was created as a method to use up surplus milk and is still made with skimmed milk today. Grana Padano cheese has a less salty and more delicate flavor than Parmesan.

How to eat Grana Padano Cheese

Grana Padano works equally well sliced over Pasta or Pastirma as it does on a cheese board, preferably paired by something sweet, like Turkish delight. Although the cheese blends well in soup when coarsely grated and combined with hot water, it is treasured for its fine, nutty crystals.
