Turkish Lahmacun is prepared by forming a ball of firm semolina dough into a thin disc, then spreading it with a thin coating of ground halal beef and baking it shortly in a super-hot, preferably wood-fired oven. The meat can be lamb or beef, and it is traditionally mixed into a thick paste with chopped vegetables and herbs like as chili peppers, onions, tomatoes, parsley, and seasonings such as cayenne pepper, paprika, cumin, and cinnamon.
