Pul Biber

In Turkey, the pepper flakes are known as pul biber, where pul means flake and biber means pepper, and in Armenia as Halebi bibar. Pul biber is the third most often used spice in Turkey, after salt and black pepper.

Pul biber, which has a fruity, Smokey flavor and warmth, is used in Cypriot and Turkish cuisine. In Turkey, it is commonly used as a condiment in the same way that cracked black pepper is used in Canada.
